GEMMA SYKES
Gemma Sykes is a London-based casting director with 20 years’ experience in Film, Television and Commercials.
Gemma's passion for casting was ignited straight out of university. She is proud to have been an integral part of a multitude of successful productions since then. She worked with esteemed casting director Sarah Crowe for three years and with Dan Hubbard for 10 years. In their offices she developed her skills and taste, gained immeasurable experience and built up her broad knowledge base. Some notable credits of Gemma’s career so far are: Captain Phillips, Jason Bourne, Downton Abbey Season 4, Suite Francaise, One Chance and Oscar-winning short film: The Phone Call.
In early 2017, Gemma established her own company, Gemma Sykes Casting. She's thrilled to have been part of a diverse range of productions since then, from large scale TV series, including Alex Garland’s FX series DEVS, and studio films, such as New Regency’s His House, directed by the very talented BAFTA award winning Remi Weekes, to indie features including the successful recent Netflix horror Choose or Die starring Asa Butterfield, Eddie Marsan and Iola Evans.
